Chris Day joined Christie + Co in 1985 and was appointed Managing Director in 1993. Chris has overseen the successful expansion of Christie + Co into a truly pan European business, which provides specialist transactional and advisory services to the hospitality, leisure, care and retail sectors.
Chris commenced his career in the property profession in 1975, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1980. In recent years he has been Chairman of the Central London Branch of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and a member of the Surveyors Panel advising the British Association of Hotel Accountants on the measurement of tangible fixed assets for the hotel industry.
Over the last few years, Chris has led teams handling numerous hotel disposal, valuation and consultancy projects for clients whose names read like a “who’s who” of the industry.
Chris and his colleagues at Christie + Co are firmly positioned at the forefront of the European hotel investment market. The company operates 29 offices across Europe. |

Romanov Igor, Member of the Board of Directors, Azimut Hotels Company, Managing Director, C.E.H.I. Central European Hotels Investments Gmbh.
With over 15 years of working experience in various Business Development and Investment Analysis positions with a number of Russian and international companies, including SUN Group, SUN Capital Partners, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr. Romanov’s involvement in commercial real-estate sector dates back to 2001, when he started in the position of Head of Research with a major Moscow-based real-estate investment company Nerl.
From 2003 onwards, Mr Romanov has been actively involved in a number of office and hotel projects. The first hotel project was a late 2003 investment in the historic “Natinonal” hotel in the heart of Samara, a major industrial center approximately 1,000 km to the east of Moscow, Russia. This acquisition gave start to creation of the Azimut Hotels Company – now one of the largest, Russian owned domestic hotel chains, with ca 3,000 rooms in the midmarket, full-service hotel segment.
Mr Romanov has been serving on the Board of Directors of Azimut Hotels Company since its incorporation.
As part of expansion drive of Azimut Hotels Company, a number of operating companies, formerly known collectively as the Austrian Hotel Company, were acquired in late 2007-early 2008. The acquired business included 19 hotels with ca 2,000 rooms in Germany, Austria, and Czech Republic, operating as hotels garni in the 3-4 star segment.
The combined room stock of the hotel operations in Russia, Germany, Austria, and Czech Republic now exceeds 5,000 rooms. |

André Witschi ist seit Februar 2008 Vorstandsvorsitzender der Steigenberger Hotels AG mit Sitz in Frankfurt am Main.
Nach dem Besuch verschiedener weiterführender Schulen in seiner Heimatstadt Zürich und in London begann der 1951 geborene Schweizer seine Hotellerie-Karriere 1976 als Assistant Manager des Mövenpick am Hauptbahnhof in Zürich. Es folgten weitere Stationen bei Mövenpick, unter anderem fünf Jahre als Projektmanager des Gastronomiekonzeptes Silberkugel. Mit mehrjähriger Erfahrung als Area Manager wechselte Witschi 1991 zum französischen Hotelkonzern Accor S.A.
Von der deutschen Accor-Zentrale in München aus, war Witschi zunächst als Generaldirektor der Ibis Hotels für Deutschland, Österreich, Polen, Italien und Südfrankreich zuständig, bevor er als Generaldirektor Operations für die Hotelmarke Ibis in Paris weltweite Markenverantwortung trug. Von 1999 an zeichnete er als Generaldirektor Europa Economy Hotels zusätzlich für die Hotelmarken Etap und Formule 1 verantwortlich.
Mitte 2003 wurde André Witschi zum Vorsitzenden der Geschäftsführung der Accor Hotellerie Deutschland GmbH, München, berufen. Anfang 2008 wechselte er als Vorstandsvorsitzender zur Steigenberger Hotels AG.
Den Titel Master of Business Administration erwarb André Witschi 1994 an der Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) in Zürich sowie 1999 an der New York State University (SUNNY) in New York State.
Witschi ist unter anderem Mitglied im Verwaltungsrat der Deutschen Zentrale für Tourismus (DZT), im Präsidium des Deutschen Hotel- und Gaststättenverbandes (DEHOGA), im Bundesverband der Deutschen Tourismuswirtschaft (BTW) sowie im Vorstand des Internationalen Hotelverbandes Deutschland (IHA).
