| Jayne Rafter, Publisher, RLI Retail & Leisure International, Paramount Publications Ltd., London |
Jayne Rafter is the Publishing Director of RLI, the world’s only global retail and leisure magazine. Jayne has 19 years experience in the sector and a proven track record for publishing well-respected, high-quality magazines.
Jayne graduated from College at 18, having studied Drama, Media & Communication Studies, English Language and Literature. Jayne has presented many Awards Events and is renowned for her public speaking having in the last two years given a presentation at Retail City, Dubai entitled ‘Capitalising on the Middle East Retail Boom’, conducted an on-the-couch interview with Joseph Wan, CEO of Harvey Nichols at the inaugural Global RLI Awards 2006, and most recently at this years Global Opportunities Conference, London, performed a similar presentation at MAPIC 2006 with Patrick Hanly, Commercial Director of Harvey Nichols and co-organised and chaired a panel session on Green Retailing at MAPIC 2007. Jayne was secured as a key speaker at last years India Retail Forum, Mumbai where she carried out a series of chat shows with key international retailers including Nokia, Subway, Dollarstore USA and Debenhams and has been asked to repeat these with new retailers at this years Event to be held in Mumbai 16-18th September. |

| Carl Francis, Director of Eastern Europe, Benoy, Hong Kong |
Carl joined Benoy in 2001 as an architect. In the same year he moved to Hong Kong where he played a pivotal role in the establishment of Benoy’s Far East design studio. Carl has worked on several of Benoy’s landmark projects including the award winning Elements mall in Hong Kong, the on-going St David’s 2 in Wales and the Raha Beach masterplan - which helped to establish Benoy’s presence in the Middle East.
In 2002, Carl oversaw the design of Benoy’s first Eastern European project, an 85,000m2 retail development in Kiev, Ukraine. Since then he has been the driving force for the continuing development of Benoy’s portfolio in the region with almost 40 projects in over 10 Central and Eastern Europe countries, from Slovakia to Kazakhstan, ranging from retail, leisure, mixed-use to commercial offices. |

Chris Igwe, Head of Retail, France and Senior Director European Retail Leasing, EMEA
Chris Igwe joined CB Richard Ellis in December 2007. Chris’ impressive client list includes brand names such as Build a Bear Workshop, Esprit, Mexx, Game, Tumi, Petit Bateau and Accessorize.
Chris began as a Civil Engineer, moving into retail in 1994. He was Director of Real Estate Europe for Foot Locker and then Gap, before joining ICSC, as its Managing Director for European Operations, and then founding Chris Igwe International.
Chris was educated at the International School of Geneva, Switzerland, and gained a Bachelors degree (BSc.) in Civil Engineering at the University of Newcastle, in England. He later gained a Masters Degree (MSc.) in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Heriot-Watt, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Chris is Chartered Engineer, a European Engineer and a member of both the ICSC and the ULI. Chris is a Steering Committee member of the ICSC European Research Group.
Chris speaks English, French, German, and Dutch. |

Jacques Sinke is head of the European retail & marketing departments of Bouwfonds MAB Development (BMD), a leading and innovative developer of commercial real estate and mixed used urban projects with a strong focus on retail.
Jacques started his career as a retailer and during his 12 years at BMD has planned and defined many successful commercial concepts for numerous BMD projects and was responsible for leasing over 200.000 m² of retail space.
Inspiring projects in the present portfolio include PalaisQuartier Frankfurt and Domus Paris. |

Mete Varas serves as Head of Business Development, Europe. In this capacity Mete has regional responsibility for all operations across company’s all functions.
Mete has been a prominent entrepreneur in high-technology businesses for more than a decade, involved numerous ventures as a founder and/or executive. He is a co-founder and non executive Board Member of VY-Media. Previously, he was Country Manager of iSentry, a leading provider of intelligent products for digital signing and encryption. Before that, he was the co-founder of TurSign, Turkey’s first Certificate Authority and Datascope, one of Europe’s first electronic investment platform. Prior to that, he co-established Internet Securities Emerging Market Service (a Euromoney Company) Istanbul Office and served as Information and Marketing Manager until 1998.
Mete Varas was a speaker at various conferences and has several articles about e-business, electronic and mobile signatures. He holds a Bachelor degree in Industrial Relations and Economics from Gazi University and an Masters of Business Administration degree from Southern New Hampshire University. |
