INVESTMENT LOCATIONS FORUM in Hall A1

The INVESTMENT LOCATIONS FORUM focuses on international investment locations. It gives international and domestic market players a chance to discuss the hot spots in the real-estate industry as well as new and developing markets. Besides established European countries, markets in Central and Southeastern Europe and overseas will also be presented and discussed.

Thompson Barnhardt, Publisher, biznespolska, Warsaw/Poland

Thompson Barnhardt (45) is a Publisher at BiznesPolska. He has a B.A. in Economics and a M.B.A. at Darden Business School at the University of Virgina in the year 1992. Barnhardt participated in advisory projects in Brazil for Bonnier, and in Tokyo for Coca-Cola Japan. From 1986 to 1990 he worked at the Bank of America, where he was active in North Carolina and Virginia at the section Corporate Banking Division. From 1992 to 1993 he worked at Arthur Andersen in Budapest at the section Corporate Finance Division, advising Hungarian companies on privatisations and restructurings. He also advised western media companies on strategy and acquisition targets in the Hungarian media sector. Other advisory work included oil & gas, telecommunications, and utility privatisations.
At New World Publishing, Inc. he co-founded this publishing company, which operated three weekly, English-language business newspapers in Warsaw, Budapest, and Prague. There Mr. Barnhardt was active from m1994 to 1999 as the President and Founder.
Besides he created the monthly Polish-language consumer travel magazine Voyage, the leading publication in the travel publishing segment (later sold to Swiss publishing group).
At Uproar Inc., which is a Nasdaq-listed Internet company operating multi-user interactive gaming Web sites in US and Europe, created in Budapest (Uproar was sold to Vivendi in 2000)., he was the co-founder and Board member from 1994 to 2000.
At City Magazine in Warsaw he was the co-founder of this monthly free-distribution magazine network from 1998 to 2001. (Sold to Polish media group Agora in spring 2001).

Since 1999 Thom Barnhadt is active as a president and Founder at BiznesPolska. He founded this regional business media company in Poland. BiznesPolska publishes 5 regional business newspapers in Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw, Katowice; two business web sites with about 15,000 daily visitors (BiznesPolska.pl and english-language BizPoland.pl), 9 business directories, and two commercial real estate newsletters.
Timur Bondaryev, Lawyer & Partner, Arzinger & Partner, Kiev/Ukraine

Timur Bondaryev is a partner and the head of Real Estate and Construction Desk at Arzinger & Partners Ukraine Law Firm.
From 1997 to 2000 Mr. Bondaryev has worked as the Head of the Legal department in State Property Fund of Ukraine. 2000 to 2002 he worked with the same position at “Ukrinian aluminium” Ltd Kyiv, in Ukraine.
Now he is the Head of Real Estate and Construction Desk and Partner at Arzinger & Partners Ukraine Law Firm, where he specializes on Real estate and Construction, Corporate law, M&A, Anti-monopoly law and foreign investments.
Mr. Bondaryev is a member of the International Bar Association, the Ukrainian Bar Association, the Kyiv Bar, and the Ukrainian-German Society of Lawyers.
Mr. Bondaryev speaks Ukrainian, Russian, German and English.
Robert Grant, General Director, Cushman & Wakefield, Kiev/Ukraine

Robert Grant is the General Director of the Kyiv office of Cushman & Wakefield. He is an American, and has been living in Ukraine for the past 15 years.
Robert Grant has vast experience in the banking and real estate sectors. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, he was the head of ING Barings Ukraine. Here, he successfully conducted the restructuring of the US$2.2bn Ukrainian state debt.
As General Director of the Ukrainian office of Cushman & Wakefield, Robert leads a team of 28 professionals offering a complete range of real estate services in capital markets, advisory, valuation and brokerage.
Among recent achievements of the Cushman & Wakefield office in Kyiv are the firm’s appointments as exclusive real estate agents by Deloitte CIS consulting company and Chadbourne & Parke law firm. Cushman & Wakefield is also active in the Ukrainian market with leading investors including Scorpio, Dawnay Day, and Quinn Group.
