|
The
economy of the Russian Federation is continuing to grow solidly;
therefore the possibilities for profitable investments are also
growing. The bulk of investors are indeed still concentrating on the
economic hot spots of Moscow and St. Petersburg, but focus is gradually
being placed on cities with more than one million residents, i.e. the
"Millioniki", since even stronger growth rates are predicted for these
regional centres. This has resulted in a real estate market that is
continuously changing but that will remain unique in its dimensions and
opportunities—not just for a few large participants, but for
numerous smaller and medium-size market participants as well.
EXPO REAL 2008 is devoting two events to these exciting, and expanding
locations: A detailed market overview will be given in the "Russian
Federation" Real Estate Investors Guide on Monday, October 6, at the
INVESTMENT LOCATIONS FORUM of EXPO REAL. Here, speakers will include
industry experts from Moscow such as Georgii A. Ivanov, managing
director of Eurasia, and Lawrence J. Mahon, Co-Executive President of
Construction at Basic Element. The Russian Afternoon on Tuesday,
October 7th in the MEDIA LOUNGE of EXPO REAL 2008 will illuminate those
cities that will boom next, and who will be financing the projects. |

| The awarding of the first "Green Thinker Award" |
|
In
collaboration with PropertyEU, EXPO REAL is awarding the "Green Thinker
Award" on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 exclusively for the first time. This
prize, an impressive green sculpture by Dutch artist David Veldhoen,
will honour the project developer who has been shown to deserve it
through his/her consistent, strategic focus, particularly on
sustainability and ecological compatibility. The jury will consist of
four notable experts on sustainability: Anna Braune, President of the
Green Thinker Jury and Director of the Green Building Council, Germany;
Louise Ellison, Research director of the Investment Property Forum, UK;
Jack de Leeuw, Board member of the Green Building Council, the
Netherlands and Prof. Graeme Newell, Professor at the School of
Economics and Finance at University of Western Sydney, Australia.
However, the award not only honours the "Green Thinkers" of the
European real estate market, but brings together successful "green"
strategies of the leading project developers and showcases the best
green pioneer approaches. |

As
part of this year’s EXPO REAL, the European Property Awards will
be given out on Monday, October 6th, 2008 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
Property Week Global will also be acknowledging outstanding
performances in the real estate industry this year with these awards.
For representatives of the European real estate industry, this
prestigious evening event offers the perfect framework for networking
with outstanding heads of the industry. |
