• 1,823 exhibitors from 43 countries – 11 percent rise
• Even stronger rise in international participation – at 20 percent
• Six halls and 63,000 square metres of space

EXPO REAL, the International Commercial Property Exposition, is opening for the tenth time on 8 October 2007 – and this year it boasts more exhibitors and more exhibition space than ever before. In total 1,823 companies from 43 countries will be exhibiting at the fair. Compared to last year, that´s a rise of eleven percent (1,638 exhibitors from 40 countries in 2006). The number of exhibitors from outside Germany this year is 482, which is 20 percent more than at EXPO REAL 2006. “These figures for EXPO REAL reflect the internationalisation taking place in the sector, and they also show that the event itself is a catalyst for this development,” said Eugen Egetenmeir, a member of the Management Board of organisers Messe München.

After Germany, most exhibitors come from the Russian Federation, followed by Austria, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland. The rise in demand at EXPO REAL 2007 comes from across the international spectrum – from Europe to Russia, the Middle East and the United States of America. Sweden has doubled the number of its exhibitors, for example, and the number of exhibiting companies from the United Arab Emirates has trebled since the previous event. Swiss participation has grown by over 60 percent. And a string of countries will be represented for the first time at this commercial property fair: Canada, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Latvia, Macedonia, Turkey and Tunisia.

This positive response to EXPO REAL as a market place for the property sector is also making itself felt in space bookings. EXPO REAL 2007 will take up 63,000 square metres of space, and thus for the first time occupy six halls at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, once again one more than the previous year. This represents an increase in space of 20 percent. Of that increase, more than one third is being taken up by international exhibitors.

The conference programme features 400 high-ranking experts in the international property business, speaking in over 100 individual events focusing on topical themes in the sector. In the EXPO REAL FORUM experts will be discussing investment and finance strategies and reporting on their initial experiences with G-REITS, as well as exploring new themes such as sustainability and the responsibilities of the property sector in view of the current debate on climate change. In the INVESTMENT & LOCATIONS FORUM a range of international locations will be presenting themselves – from established European markets and high-growth regions of south-eastern Europe to more far-flung places like India. The spectrum of uses of property – hotels, offices, retail, infrastructure and logistics – is under the spotlight at the SPECIAL REAL ESTATE FORUM, in particular finance and investment aspects. Under the umbrella of the PLANNING & PARTNERSHIPS FORUM successful projects and visions in the fields of facility management, architecture and urban developments will be presented.

EXPO REAL
EXPO REAL, the 10th International Commercial Property Exposition, takes place from 8 to 10 October 2007 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. The event is an international platform for networking on projects, investment and finance. It covers the entire spectrum of the property sector and brings together players from all the key markets from Europe, to Russia, the Middle East and the US. An extensive conference programme, featuring around 400 speakers, provides an in-depth overview of current trends and innovations in property investment and finance.
