Michael Ellis is one of the founding partners of 5+design, an 80-person architecture and urban design firm based in Hollywood, California, with a focus on urban mixed-use projects incorporating retail, residential, office, hotel and other uses. Michael is responsible for the firm’s strategic market planning, client relations and project management worldwide.
Since the firm’s founding in 2005, 5+design has garnered awards for two projects in Dubai, and currently has projects in development in the United States, Europe, China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, India and Russia. 2008 will also see the launch of Celebrity Solstice, a new cruise ship for Royal Caribbean which includes retail, casino and entertainment spaces created by 5+design.
With over 20 years of project management and design leadership experience, Michael brings a wide perspective to the design and development process. Working alongside clients, principal designers and consultant teams, he has overseen and managed projects in the US, Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East.
Michael received a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College and a Masters of Architecture from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He is professionally licensed in the state of California. |
